Meet Yonit! Not many data scientists would define their role as artistic, but Yonit sees creativity as an integral part of her life – from studying art and painting in high school to her role at Microsoft applying machine learning and algorithms to gain advanced insights from images, voice, and text. Her background is just as diverse: academically, Yonit holds a BSc and MSc in Computer Science and Biology and a Ph.D. in bioinformatics and cancer research, and professionally, she created models to predict maritime accidents before moving to video. In addition, Yonit is a proud advocate for women in tech, creating a work-life balance, and combining motherhood and career – she speaks on these topics (and more!) regularly within Microsoft and is part of the Women in Data Science speakers forum.
