Responsibilities
As a Senior UX Designer, you will:
- Create wireframes, journey maps, prototypes, and detailed mockups to iterate on product scenarios and communicate design concepts to stakeholders and partners.
- Manage design toolkits, product assets, interaction models, and data visualization, working closely with the design system team.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams across all stages of design and development through compelling storytelling and feedback.
- Understand customer needs, define and solve problems and work within engineering constraints to create engaging experiences and challenge design and engineering limitations when appropriate.
- Provide guidance to other designers and engineers to ensure your design vision is realized in code.
- Independently manage multiple projects end-to-end, owning timelines and deliverables, guiding production, and communicating evolving project goals.
- Receive and prioritize incoming projects, balancing speed, quality, and innovative work.
- Understand strategic business goals, focus work around objectives and key results, and guide team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution of tasks.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies, design trends, and industry best practices, proactively suggesting and implementing improvements to our design processes and tools.
- Identify your interests and initiate UX-driven ideas.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Master's Degree in Visual communication design, Interaction Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field
- 6+ years of experience working in B2B product as a product design [UX+UI].
- Deep knowledge of design, with strengths in visual design principles, interaction design, prototyping, deep understanding of front-end development.
- Strong communication skills
- Self-starter with expertise in user experience and visual design
- Understands how to utilize design specialties and how/when to integrate with partnering teams (PM, engineering, marketing, brand, and content teams)
- Customer-centric mindset with experience turning abstract design concepts into reality.
- Experience creating design systems, style guides, component libraries, and technical frameworks.
- Firm grasp of Figma for design and prototyping
- Learn-it-all (not know-it-all) attitude and approach
- Willingness to question established thinking in pursuit of better outcomes.
- Ability to evangelize design thinking with product team.
- Link to online portfolio - A strong portfolio is critical for this role. Showcase your experience in interaction design, particularly in complex systems where simplicity and ease of use were a major concern.
Preferred
- Experience with Security domain.
- Familiar with agile or lean methodologies.
- Awareness of inclusive design and how it supports Microsoft’s mission.
