Within Azure Data, the data integration team builds data gravity on the Microsoft Cloud. Massive volumes of data are generated – not just from transactional systems of record, but also from the world around us. Our data integration products – Azure Data Factory and Power Query make it easy for customers to bring in, clean, shape, and join data, to extract intelligence.The Dataflows team is seeking a proficient Senior Software Engineer to help shape the next generation of Fabric Dataflows and take an active role in our migration to a modern, scalable architecture. As part of Microsoft’s Data Integration platform, Fabric Dataflows empower millions of users to easily connect, transform, and unify data from diverse sources through a powerful low-code experience powered by Power Query. - Design, build and improve cloud services that are part of the Fabric Dataflow product.
- Maintain legacy systems until their sunset and dive into legacy code.
- Drive architectural decisions and lead the development of major components in a distributed, high-SLA system.
- Collaborate closely with a highly skilled teams in ILDC and abroad to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Conduct code and design reviews.
- Take part in the on-call rotation and solve live issues in production.
- Embody our culture and values
- 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in object oriented languages.
- Experience building and running services in a cloud environment (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems with high availability and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent training.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- You’re curious, proactive, self-driven, a strong communicator, and enjoy working with others to solve hard problems. - Patience and professionalism in managing organizational complexity.
