The Global Partner Solutions (GPS) team mission is to: build and sell intelligent cloud and intelligent edge solutions with partners, empowering people, and organizations to achieve more. GPS is a sales organization accountable for the commercial partner business at Microsoft. 

 

The Partner Technology Strategist (PTS) is at the forefront of our digital transformation efforts and acts as the CTO for our Microsoft Partner Businesses - trusted Technical Leaders to Partners C-Suite technical and practice management executives. The PTS-ISV plays a critical role in working with Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to influence and transform their technology roadmaps with Microsoft's technology priorities, to enable working with them to build new solutions that enable customers to realize the vision of Digital Transformation.

 

The PTS is a strategist yet stands out because of their Insights and ability to envision with ISVs and land Microsoft and Partner business outcomes.



Responsibilities

Key Areas of Responsibility - What the Partner Technology Strategist will do:

 

Transformation:

  • Transformational capability and mindset is a must. Leading Partnerships from out front to transform their businesses and to influence the broader transformation at Microsoft is critical. This role drives the prioritization for the Partners we build with to deliver needed capacity and capability and Microsoft MEA business outcomes. 
  • Creates and maintains a transformational vision and differentiated value proposition for our Partner solution scenarios and services that helps large-scale, high-stakes partners meet their business goals, achieve their long-term corporate vision, and maximize their and Microsoft success.          

Influence

  • Partners: Influencing Partners to drive accelerated and differentiated transformational roadmaps and outcomes with Microsoft
  • Microsoft: Playing leadership role with the MEA Field and LT to accelerate joint transformational priorities and prioritize engagement
  • Best Practices: Proactively seeks out best practices from others and implements them. Establishes thought leadership to build best practices, prove them out and influence adoption
  • Acts as the "virtual Chief Technology Officer (CTO)/Chief Digital Officer (CDO)" for Partners and is sought out to advise and consult on solutions positioning Microsoft offerings.
  • Leadership capability to drive virtual and extended team outcomes across geos and business. 

High Value Resource Leverage

  • Strong capability to leverage the full extent of all Microsoft Resources from MEA GPS, MEA Field, WW Engineering, WW ISV & Services Teams, WW Business Groups to advance and amplify strategic initiatives and launch new initiatives to deliver on MEA outcomes
  • Leveraging the matrix of people and leaders at MEA level and WW to accelerate outcomes
  • Provides thought leadership and guidance to their partners, and the broader community

Market Intelligence

  • Deliver unique market insights from the team and Partner business across countries that inform Transformational impact priorities
  • Thought leadership through deep collaboration across the core business and from stakeholder engagement across Worldwide, Other Microsoft HQs, Local MEA stakeholders. Insights on market opportunity and compete
  • Acts as the voice of the partner and internal advocate by providing insights, feedback, and challenges from the partner to internal teams (e.g., product groups, engineers) across all levels of the organization. Drives action to ensure that internal teams understand and respond to insights. 

Ensuring Success

  • Orchestrates a wide, complex range of components for projects/programs within large, high-stakes Partners. Ability to drive execution rigor across a variety of solution areas; sets timelines and milestones, and establishes rigor for the team to track progress toward objectives; leverages industry expertise and establishes technical credibility with partners to drive the project agenda.
  • Collaborates across Global Partner Solutions and Microsoft MEA to realize the execution results with a north star of the end business result Microsoft MEA and Partners need to realize.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, product development, or related technical or sales experience
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 6+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, product development, or related technical or sales experience
  • Solid understanding of Application Modernization and building cloud native applications e.g. Containers, Microservices, DevOps, Mobile/Web Apps Migration Techniques,...etc.
  • Min 5 years experience leading cloud transformation of Independent Software Vendors (ISVs)
  • Thought Leadership experience

 

 

Additional or Preferred Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND substantial years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, product development, change management or related technical/sales experience
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND proven years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, product development, change management or related technical/sales experience
  • Experience leading and influencing through virtual teams and across organizations and geographies to drive complex outcomes delivering mutually beneficial success
  • Experience with relevant technologies (e.g., cloud, infrastructure, Microsoft platform).
