The Partner Technology Strategist (PTS) is at the forefront of our digital transformation efforts for our partners. The PTS plays a critical role in working with partners to align their technology roadmaps with Microsoft's technology priorities, working with them to build new solutions that enable customers to realize the vision of Digital Transformation. The PTS is a Credible Technical Advisor to Partners C-Suite technical and practice management executives sharing a compelling technical vision leading to Partners committing to building new practices based on Microsoft’s technologies.

Key areas of responsibility - What PTS' do:

  • Partner & Industry Insights. Synthesizes and combines various business insights to conduct forecasting and develop recommendations. Understands market trends, market opportunities, compliance by reading, attending webinars, conferences delivered by Industry thought leaders such as Gartner, Forrester, IDC.  

  • Trusted Advisor. Acts as the voice of the partner and internal advocate, joining the Strategic Technology Advisory/Planning groups of partners and contributing with insights that influence the technology roadmaps and investments towards Microsoft.

  • Strategy Formulation. Provides analysis of overall partner needs in alignment towards Microsoft’s technology priorities, and advises on gaps that would benefit from Microsoft solutions as part of Industry solution mapping and capacity planning, ensures execution of technology strategy and digital transformation, and creates mid-term and long-term technical and business roadmaps.

  • Demand Generation & Orchestration. Orchestrates internal teams to ensure sufficient technical resources for future demands, when appropriate. Leads cross-technology team orchestration through the first mile, first few deals, to ensure partners are ready.

  • Differentiated Value Proposition. Partners with a line-of-business leader or senior executive within a partner organization to articulate the value of Microsoft technology/services to meet future business needs, and creates and maintains a vision with business and technology solution scenarios and services.

  • Education & Thought Leadership. Uses existing and new readiness resources and demonstrates expertise in creating enablement plans for partners, and provides expertise and is sought out by the Microsoft community at the global level. Envisions the important interdependencies of 3rd party solutions, services and equipment, as well as Partner-to-Partner (P2P) motions for better together strategies among different partners and partner types.

  • Ensuring Success. Orchestrates a wide, complex range of components for projects/programs within large, partner accounts, and partners with line-of-business leaders or senior executives within the partner organization.

  • Solution Development. Proactively influences large, global partners to develop strategic solution using Microsoft technologies. Oversees the successful development and landing of solutions for customer engagements.

  • Partner Enablement. Helps partners build practices or solutions and engages Technical Architects, Industry specialists and Engineering teams for the delivery of workshops, Bootcamps, and trainings necessary to build the technical skills and expertise of partners and influence through solution-sales guidance.



Responsibilities

  • Helps partners build practices or solutions and shares their experience and influence with partners through solution-sales guidance; provides guidance to the broader technical team to ensure that technical pre-sales, deployment, and consumption (with a focus on key strategic workloads and solutions) are part of solution development efforts; coaches the partner on building resilience to technical issues and dealing with competition.
  • Be a Trusted Technical Advisor to partner Technical Leadership and drive strong partner preference on Microsoft platform and mutual success.
  • Drive Partner Transformation by developing a strong Technical Development Plan that is duly agreed by Microsoft and partner stakeholders.

  • Develop partner engagements with a focus on strategic workloads (EPP) and Advanced Specializations that can provide higher CSE attach resulting greater impact for each build with engagement, which yields in achieving/exceeding partner performance goals

  • Build differentiated repeatable offerings that can be leveraged for breadth partner motions.

Key Capabilities
  • 6-10+  years of related experience in technology solutions/practice development, Cloud / Infrastructure technologies required. Knowledge of Microsoft platform preferable, project management, technical Sales and technical account management.

  • Partner & Industry Insights. Deep understanding of digital transformation business drivers, cloud platforms, emerging Cloud trends and their impact on customer opportunities.

  • Trusted Advisor. Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with CXOs and building cloud consumption share in Hosters or Managed services providers.

  • Strategy Formulation. Strong understanding of business strategies and outcomes that technology can support, ability to lead the adoption of technologies by plotting the strategic, long-term vision of partners, can anticipate the resolution of technical blockers that arise during strategy planning, and drives envisioning in the roadmaps around new and groundbreaking capabilities.

  • Differentiated Value Proposition. Skilled in helping large-scale, high-stakes partners meet their business goals, achieve their long-term corporate vision, and maximize commercial success. Strong Technical knowledge on one of the Microsoft Cloud Platforms (Azure, Modern Work, Security & Business Applications) and ability to articulate the value proposition of Microsoft Cloud services to partners.

  • Education & Thought Leadership. Ability to drives innovations to help partners meet capacity and capability goals, maximize reach and impact and drive long-term engagement and thought leadership, and influences large partners to see and adopt the strategic value.

  • Ensuring Success. Experience in building new practices and solution offerings on a public cloud and value realization across a variety of solution areas; sets timelines and milestones, and track progress toward objectives. Demonstrates technical sales leadership skills to inspire and accelerate partner influenced revenue.

  • Solution Development. Strong partner relationship management and solution development skills with a problem-solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources, conflict resolution, and follow through with partners. Builds solutions into the partner ecosystem to enable partners to sell to end-customers.

  • Partner Enablement. Experience in offering guidance to the broader technical team to ensure that technical pre-sales, deployment, and consumption are part of solution development efforts; ability to coaches the partner on building resilience to technical issues and dealing with competition.

  • Relationship Building. Proven track record of building deep sales relationships with CXOs and practice building executives with highly strategic partners.

  • Collaboration and Communication. Acknowledged for driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills; Ability to orchestrate, lead, and influence virtual teams; Strong presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences at different levels of organizations.
