Microsoft Israel R&D Center provides different levels of support to the Academia in Israel. From unique courses we developed for Academia in Israel to developed material by Microsoft to support Universities around the world.
Unique Courses and Local Support:
"The use of (Microsoft) technologies to the benefit of the community". The purpose of the course is to inspire students to develop projects that the community can use. The course contains lectures on "the needs of special communities" such as elderly people; disable people, etc., lectures on cutting edge technologies such as Mobile devices, Kinect and cloud and lectures on software engineering (how to develop a project). In return the students need (with our help) to define the project purpose, to find the "customer" and to develop the project.
"From Virtualization to cloud" - a graduate level course that teaches the different levels of the cloud, starting from the processors (Virtualization), storage, network and up to programming models and OS support. The course compares the different cloud technologies in the market (e.g., AZURE, Google, and Amazon) and provides "hands on" experience on AZURE platforms.
We are offering and supporting different projects in the academia in areas such as "software engineering", cloud computing, windows Phone applications, Kinect, Surface and more.
We are providing short seminars on various topics and technologies such as cloud computing (AZURE) and Mobile devices (Microsoft Windows Phone).
