Mr. Hasson is the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor of Israel since January 2011. The Office of the Chief Scientist (the "OCS") in the Israeli Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor is the government entity in charge of the execution of government policy for support of industrial R&D. The goal of the OCS is to assist in the development of technology in Israel as a means of fostering economic growth, encouraging technological innovation and entrepreneurship, leveraging Israel’s scientific potential, enhancing the knowledge base of industry in Israel, stimulating high value-added R&D and encouraging R&D collaboration both nationally and internationally. A variety of ongoing support programs developed and offered by the OCS play a major role in enabling Israel to be a key center for high tech entrepreneurship.
For ten years prior to his appointment, Mr. Hasson was a general partner at Gemini Israel Funds, one of Israel's top tier Venture Capital firms. At Gemini, Mr. Hasson managed the Fund's investments in the communications, storage and consumer electronic sectors. In addition he supported and supervised portfolio companies throughout their life cycle. Mr. Hasson was an active board member of a number of Gemini's portfolio companies. He traveled and lectured extensively both in Israel and in the United States on Venture Capital and High-tech subjects.
Prior to his time in Gemini, Mr. Hasson spent a decade in leading telecommunication companies, such as ECI Telecom, ECtel and Tadiran Systems, where he fulfilled several duties in the fields of marketing, business development and consulting. His work there involved operations such as market and technology research and analysis, together with supervision of R&D activities as well as product definition and specification (ECI Telecom); designing and redirecting the company (ECtel) towards Telecom Operation Support Systems as well as managing this company's first product in this area – a Fraud Management System.
Mr. Hasson holds a Bachelor Degree (BA) from Tel Aviv University in Economics and Middle East Studies (1999) as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Tel Aviv University (2004). He is a graduate of the IDF's elite HAMAN-TALPIOT, Program, where he served as an Intelligence Officer of the Israel Defense Forces.
As General Manager of the Microsoft Israel R&D Center, Yoram is responsible for all technological activities in Israel, including the R&D sites in Haifa and Herzeliya, new core R&D projects, partnering with the local venture-capital and start-up communities, and collaborating with Israeli academic institutions.
Shai-Lee leads all the marketing and community affairs activities of Microsoft’s Israel R&D Center, bringing diverse experience in strategy, marketing and corporate affairs from leading Israeli companies.
Prior to her return to Microsoft in 2007 when she joined the Israeli R&D Center, Shai-lee served as the Deputy Manager of Bank Ha’Poalim’s Strategy Department. Prior to that, she worked at Microsoft Sales and Marketing group in Israel. She also served as a Team Leader at Shaldor, a leading Management Consulting Firm.
Shai-Lee holds a BA in Law from Tel-Aviv University, and a Masters’ degree in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Prior to re-joining Microsoft, Zack was Founder, Business and marketing officer at Mintigo Ltd. The Social Biometrics company as well as Vice President of Marketing & Strategy at modu, the modular mobile handset company. Before that, Zack held the position of Director of Business Management at Microsoft Corp. and General Manager Americas and Corporate Vice President for the Mobile Market at msystems (NSDQ: FLSH), which was acquired by SanDisk Corp (NSDQ: SNDK) for 1.6B at the end of 2006. Zack Weisfeld holds an International Executive MBA from Kellogg Business School and Tel Aviv University, as well as B.A. in Economics with Honors from Tel-Aviv University.
